Industrial Cleaning Contractors carries out an extensive range of industrial stone cleaning and industrial brick cleaning services for a wide and diverse range of clients. Our scope of works includes industrial concrete cleaning, external cladding cleaning, stone cleaning and refurbishment and brick cleaning and refurbishment.

Over a period of time pollutants within the environment and general traffic film deposits will contaminate our buildings, these could be commercial, industrial or historical structures. Regardless of the building type all at some time will need some degree of cleaning, possibly under a dilapidations schedule, new ownership, maintenance program or simply a desire to improve the visual appearance of a structure.

As specialist cleaning contractors we have over the last 20 years been involved with huge variety of buildings, and have gained considerable experience of careful and sympathetic cleaning and removal of all forms of contamination. In some instances controlled pressurised water jetting is sufficient, however most will need the assistance of detergents and specialist chemicals to help release stubborn soiling and contamination. However the use of such introduces environment issues and safety considerations. Additionally important factors will be the type of access involved, protection of staff, visitors, general public safety and possibly arrangements with the Highways Agency.

On one particular project in Milton Keynes our client, a facilities company, required a prestigious high rise commercial building to be externally cleaned for their client whilst still being in occupancy. Not only was the building occupied but was also located in a public commercial area where high levels of pedestrians walked daily along three of the four elevations. Whilst the building was only 15 years old the exterior stone clad facade was heavily contaminated. Works involved the creation of safety zones at ground level, redirection of pedestrian traffic, highway agency involvement with vehicular traffic, protection of the clients staff, environmental issues concerning an ornamental lake and operational use of 24 metre aerial access platforms. Cleaning involved a chemical and jet washing process using a biodegradable based detergent solution. ICC coordinated and manged the entire works presenting to the client a finished project without incident, on time and as per the lump sum we had previously quoted.

For more than 22 years our management, site supervision and operatives have worked within these types of environments. We have seen considerable changes in the way works must now be conducted, primarily in the interests of increased safety awareness. We take our responsibilities very seriously, our management and staff are trained to the following accreditation.

• Management hold ‘CITB Management Site Safety Scheme Accreditation’
• Site supervision hold ‘CITB Supervisor Site Safety Scheme Accreditation’
• Cleaning operatives hold ‘CSCS’ cards
• CITB accredited IPAF platform operator’s certificates.
• PASMA certification for tower access construction.
• Experienced site management and supervision.
• Operatives are full time and directly employed by Industrial Cleaning Contractors.

Surveying & Costs.

ICC will survey the extent of any works, working with the client’s ‘Schedule of Works’ where necessary or make recommendations and provide a bespoke schedule. Based upon this information we will then provide a fixed lump sum cost clearly indicating the extent and limitations of works with no hidden extras, any exclusions will be clearly identified. Any additional items of cleaning not identified or agreed at the time of the survey will be priced individually, again on a lump sum basis.

Documentation & Procedures.

Prior to commence of any works would submit, for approval, a bespoke non generic ‘Site Specific Package’ including,

• Risk Assessments
• COSHH Risk Assessment, COSHH data sheets
• Method Statements
• Safety Induction, site specific
• Produce CSCS Cards, IPAF Cards and PASMA Cards where applicable.

Operatives will read, acknowledge and sign our ‘Site Specific Package’ a copy of which will be supplied to the client. Throughout the work’s duration, site supervision will conduct routine ‘Toolbox Talks’ at regular intervals and our management will attend site at least once per week to ensure compliance of such is strictly adhered to.

Management & Supervision.

Our approach is to work with your site management, providing you with experienced site supervision and labour, all our operatives are full time employees, we do not use agency or casual staff. During the last 22 years we have never been contra-charged by any of our clients for delays, damage caused or otherwise. Our primary objective is to secure repeat business, we will only achieve this is if we complete your project safely, on time, on budget and without incident.
